As I said in my first post, the UI freezes until the decoding of all images is complete.

Jim Simon claims that a long list of Panasonic camcorders are not affected.  Yet myself and another person have both reported encountering this problem with the Panasonic AG-AC130, one of the camcorders he listed.

Actually the only one I reported as working fine is the GH2.  Christian reported the others, and he's a pretty knowledgeable guy.

I think that this is exactly the reason why so many people here are mistakenly reporting that they are not encountering the bug.   For they simply don't know in the first place how to properly import a spanned AVCHD clip via the Media Browser.   These symptoms that you reported of having either an audio or video glitch at the intersection of spanned files only occur when a spanned clip is not properly imported via the Media Browser. It is conclusive confirmation that the import was not done right

Lance,

Are you saying that my files (not imported via the Adobe Media Browser) and not showing an apparent problems should have glitches?  Is there any way to test for problems?  I have all three tracks synchronized in the timeline and have repeatedly scrubbed cut back and forth between clips without seeing any glitches.  I am assuming that you are talking glitches at the 4 GB file size boundaries and not at the switchover between media types.

All I know is that the most knowledgeable people that I have spoken to on this subject insist that in order to properly import individual AVCHD files that are part of one spanned clip, one has to use the Media Browser.  I was first informed of this by Barry Green at DVXUSER.COM, who has written a number of manuals for professional Panasonic camcorders that Panasonic has actually bundled and included with these camcorders here in the USA.   However, I have since been to other websites, where others have confirmed this as well.   I don't think that this is an issue in contention at all here, and is generally accepted to be accurate and true.

In order to try to bolster my theory that the make and model of the camcorder plays no role here, I just today experimented with my GH3. My goal was to show that it would experience the exact same symptoms as my Panasonic AC130 and Canon HF G10.   I've not shot in AVCHD since getting my GH3, and instead have been recording using the 50 Mbps IPB MOV format, that most users of the GH3 appear to indicate gives the best results with this camera.   In fact, support for that format was one of the key reasons I decided to get a GH3.  So today, for the first time, I recorded in 28 Mbps 1080/60p AVCHD 2.0 using the camera, thinking that AVCHD option would stress it the most.   I ended up with two 4 Gig MTS files, and a small third file, all comprising the one clip.

However, I was shocked to discover that I did not experience the severe slow down in the software that I have in the past with my spanned AVCHD clips from either of my camcorders.  However, Premiere Pro 6 did actually crash on me, while it was autosaving and I was playing the file on the Timeline.   And crashing like that during Autosave is a symptom that I have experienced in the past when working with AVCHD spanned clips in 6.0.  However, after restarting the software, I had no problem at all in editing the clip, and even exporting it.   I then performed the same editing and export with the files using PP 5.5, and the performance and speed of the software was similar.   PP 5.5 did not crash on me, though.

So I am not sure what to think at this point.  For I was not able to fully duplicate the problems I've experienced in PP 6 with 24 Mbps 1080/24p and 1080/30p AVCHD spanned clips from my camcorders.  Although the fact that the software crashed on me while doing Autosave makes me think that a problem is still in play.

Online Export PDF hangs after the 'export to' dialogue box

Explorer 10 running on Windows 8.  My initial attempt at converting a .pdf file into .docx file is failing as the screen simply shows "uploading xxxx.pdf..." and no file is ever exported/imported.  I'm assuming this is a setting-type issue, but I can't seem to ferret out the answer on my own.  Any suggestions?

Hi all. After struggling with this for a while I changed the name of the memory card in finder - this seemed to do the trick though I have no idea why! Any thoughts?

What are my options for adding an additional single app...

Okay, hopefully this will make sense:

I have the Student & Teacher CC subscription.  I'd like to use Illustrator CS6 on an additional computer.  What are my options?  (Obviously, the most cost-effective option is what I'm looking for!)

I may be alright with the lacking hardware support when someone gives a profound technical reason.

Is it memory latency when using shared RAM?

AFAIK, with Configurator 3.x, none of the "AdobeInvoke..." functions would return a value, so all communication was one direction, from the HTML widget to the application scripting environment. It's feasible that you could write to a file from a script that the HTML widget would be able to access using AJAX, but I never got to trying it.

I was hoping that the new "_Adobe.JSXInterface" methods would provide a way to get return values (and they probably do), but with the version of Configurator 4 that's currently available, the "_Adobe" object does not appear to be exposed in the HTML widget's scripting environment. I tried completely rebuilding a panel with the new configurator and running it in Photoshop CC, and it gives the message "Can't find variable: _Adobe".

Success!

Here are the additional steps I took after doing all of the above:

  1. Ran a JAVA update that popped up in the App Store. (Can't imagine that it was the factor but have to mention it in case.)
  2. Ran CC Cleaner.
  3. Removed the files from the HD>Library>Preferences>Adobe folder. These files remained after running uninstallers that were told to remove preference files AND after running the CC Cleaner.
  4. Reboot
  5. Ran Installer

I recently downloaded Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on my Windows 8 computer. Acrobat and any software that comes with it appears blurred whenever it is opened. I downloaded it with Creative Cloud as well as Photoshop CC. Luckily I am not having this problem with Photoshop. This same thing has happened to one of Microsoft's own programs, Skype (for desktop), and other programs that open on the desktop. I am assuming that this will be fixed in the Windows 8.1 update, but until then, is there any solution to make these programs (excluding Skype) appear clear? I have all my drivers up to date.

the fact that the software crashed on me while doing Autosave makes me think that a problem is still in play.

Quite possibly, but not this problem.

Youtube Upload über 15 Minuten

Hallo,

You'd have to ask the engineers that one.  One of them occasionally pokes his head in here, but you can't count on it.

Have you looked at the PDF properties to be sure ALL fonts are embedded. If not, you might be able to use the preflight script to embed them all. That may be the issue, particularly when you are using Open Type fonts.

BTW, one interesting thing that you can do with the existing HTML widget is to use cookies to save preference data (up to 80K total). Of course, if the new configurator allows for return values from an app's scripting environment, there won't be much need for this workaround anymore, but it does work with previous versions of configurator.

You say "It is set to full resolution." Do you mean the Playback Resolution control, next to the duration to the lower right of the video frame? Have you checked the Paused Resolution in the monitor's flyout menu?
