NEF to JPEG on Nikon d3200

I have photoshop elements 9 operating on a mac. i bought a Nikon d3200 to shoot my sculpture with. PS won't let me download the raw (.NEF) format. Is there a download that will fix this or do I need a new version or what??? (From now on I will shoot in fine jpeg) I need these photos
