Re: Captivate 7 crashes when inserting an animated gif

I recently wrestled with this same issue. These forums helped, if for no other reason to tell me there was hope in continuing to play with the settings until Captivate finally accepted the gif. Out of five gifs I imported to my file, two gave me problems. All were created in Photoshop. After adjusting frame timing and tweaking just about every setting in the Save for Web dialog, I had the best luck with settings that diminished the overall quality of the animation. I fixed one gif by bumping Lossy up to 5. I fixed the other by bumping Lossy to 10 and Web Snap to 10%. In my case, the animations used fairly simple shapes so the loss in quality was undetectable to my non-designer eyes and the result was acceptable to me. I'm sure this won't be an acceptable fix for some, but if you think you could stand a little loss in quality I'd recommend starting with these settings.
