I'm having issues with premier not reading a network drive where we store projects that are being worked on collaboratively on our creative team. Windows reads it, registers it, and works as expected. I can import files from the network drive manually, but when I reopen the project, clips are offline and require being re-linked. With the media browser, and the linking media browser, I can't even get to the network drive or see what's on it much less import or re-link the clips. This is a big problem for us. Some of our project files are having this occur with 250+ clips within the project file. Needless to say we can afford to take the time to re-link all those clips manually (which is not possible) when we need to modify something or re-render a portion of the videos for demonstration purposes. Currently we are having to import the original file and then perform all the edits again to replace the clip, but then when the project file is reopened it shows up as offline again due to premier not reading the network drive. Periodically, when we try to load some of the project files that we have stored on the network drive Premier will crash while trying to locate the files as well. With one particular file, it is crashing every time we try to open it during the file location process. Other project files are opening up, but completely empty with nothing in them.
This desperately needs to be fixed. But how can we fix it? We have tried several things, and our IT contractor has tried fixing it but nothing has worked, not even uninstalling premier and re-installing it. That only temporarily (one use) fixed it. Please, Help.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
