do you need DoStudio? or wont one of sony's other bluray authoring programs work for your needs?

if you want to try and max out quality on a BD, you could experiment with x264. its different than the h.264 in premiere, and can offer higher quality at same file size/bitrate. there are many free x264 encoding programs but you have to render out of premiere to something like dnxhd, then re-ncode again to x264 using one of these free programs. there is a plugin for x264 in premiere but i haven't used, so cant say how well it works, or if its worth the price... x264 PRO | Adobe Creative Suite H.264 Encoder
the rovi license issue really gets me thinking on how many other licensed products are integrated into adobe's software. several of these adobe programs would be very crippled without them. i can see the benefit of licensing top notch plugins from other companies vs making lower quality versions themselves, however it really leaves adobe's software vulnerable to these kinds of situations.
