Humor indeed! In any event, I've had some luck fixing the problem by taking care to make the dimensions of the text frames integral numbers of pixels, and the X,Y coordinates of those frames also integral numbers of pixels. This has helped a number of the text frames that I've checked. The epub readers may have trouble displaying fractions of pixels if they have been optimized for 72 or 150 dpi display. Perhaps it's simply a matter of the designer actually paying attention to the performance characteristics of the target reader. If so, it's "obvious" in retrospect.
