Michael, I’ll try to explain what I wanted to do and what I’ve done …
I wanted to restore one catalog – Photoshop MAIN Catalog 010915. Originally, on my old computer, if I wanted to find a photo and couldn’t remember when it was taken, I could look for it in the Elements Organizer and then see its original location under C://…Pictures/2015/January, etc. My photos are grouped in folders by year then month in the Library/Pictures.
Now, in the new computer, all the photos are in the Library/Pictures AND in C:// Windows/ProgramData/Adobe/ElementsOrganizer/Catalogs/Photoshop MAIN Catalog 010915. This includes a folder called “Main Catalog PE11” with the Breeze Data, CAXMP files, Projects, Style and WaldoData files.
Would the simplest solution be to just do another Restore using the Original Location method? Then delete the catalog that I restored as “New Location with the Restore Original Folder Structure”.
On the new computer I checked “Custom Location” putting the MAIN CATALOG PE11 in the above location. If I do another Restore using the Original Location method, do I check Catalogs Accessible by All Users or Custom Location?
Now the only catalog listed under “Catalogs Accessible by All Users” is “My Catalog”, the default (and where I’ve left the Elements music files.) I see that I could just add the MAIN CATALOG PE11 as a new one.
I appreciate your help and time, Michael. Doing this in the dead of night while apparently also brain dead was not the best choice. Will try to correct it with your instructions during daytime.
Sue
