After Effects 'Stopped working' error

Hello,

I need this to work very urgently. I have encountered this issue before with adobe premiere pro which was quickly resolved by updating windows service pack 1. I have all my drivers up to date and am getting a 'stopped working' error right after I try to launch after effects
